This problem can occur when some of the SAS Visual Analytics metadata that is stored for your account is corrupted. For example, your History (recently viewed items) might be corrupt. There is no known cause for this issue, but your system administrator can usually resolve the issue by following these steps:
- Ensure that the affected user is not logged on to SAS Visual Analytics.
- Log on to SAS Management Console as an unrestricted user such as sasadm@saspw.
- On the Folders tab, navigate to the affected user's folder: User Folders ► [user ID] ► Application Data.
- Beneath Application Data, right-click VisualAnalytics, select Rename, and change the folder name.
- Select View ► Refresh.
The affected user should then perform these steps:
- Open a browser session.
- Clear the browser history, including favorites.
- Log on to SAS Home. This action automatically re-creates the VisualAnalytics folder. Initially, there is no history, but the recent list should rebuild as the user opens reports and other content.
If this resolves the issue, then the system administrator can delete the renamed VisualAnalytics folder. If this does not resolve the issue, the affected user might need to be deleted from metadata so that the entire personal folder structure is re-created. Before taking this step, back up any content in the affected user's My Folder area. The My Favorites and My Collections content should be re-created manually, since these might contain corrupted metadata. If you have concerns about deleting a user from metadata, contact SAS® Technical Support.
